Tokyo Disney
« on: February 24, 2018, 07:53:08 PM »
Despite having a look on the forum, mind you I did not try hard, we are looking at going to Tokyo early next year.

I am looking for advice for booking, any hotel suggestions, the best time of year to go(we are looking at March), what are queues like and if its best to book a package or not.

I am hoping someone here can answer a few of the questions

We didn't stay onsite as it's pretty easy to reach the Resort by train from Tokyo. Tokyo Disney Resort is always quite busy, so you can expect some rides to have a rather long wait. But it's manageable if you avoid holidays and weekends.

But check out TDR Explorer for a full guide on Tokyo Disney Resort, it has a lot of helpful tips: https://tdrexplorer.com/best-tokyo-disneyland-trip-planning-articles/

Oh yeah totally, it is DEAD easy to take the JR to Tokyo Disney!
My husband and I did it too and we speak no Japanese, got there without a glitch :)

We went the first week of September, on the day before the Halloween season started and it was so chill!
Most people are holding off going 'till it actually starts, so there's no crazy long queues and what not :)

Should it interest you, I wrote pieces about Tokyo DisneySea, I'll just link to them in case you want to look at them :)

And there's a bunch of Tokyo Disney trip planning resources on charactercentral.net also

What I love about Tokyo Disney especially, is that you can look up the menus and merch etc. Sure, most is in Japanese, but if you translate it in google chrome, you can totally get by :)

Sorry for dumping a bunch of links on you, I'm just trying to be helpful :)

Oh and we stayed in the Ibis Shinjuku.
It's very easy to reach from Narita airport as the Narita Express stops in Shinjuku (it's a little daunting to find the right exit though) and easy to get back to Narita for the same reason.
The English of the staff wasn't amazing, but if you speak easy English and slow enough (it has nothing to do with Japanese of course, I have to ask the French to speak slower all the time) it wasn't much of an issue at all. The rooms were quiet and clean, there's a lot of fun things nearby and you can take the Yamanote line on the JR to get to most places without having to transfer (not Tokyo Disney though, you need to transfer in Tokyo station, but it's super easy).
And we had a fridge in the room, which was very convinient and there's places to shop for food super close by. Pretty much accros the street and around the corner.

We were in Tokyo all of the first week of September, and it was super relaxed. We had a couple of bad weather days, but at least it was a damn sight warmer than it was here in Europe at the time so it was all good.
It's just after the summer rush, so that helps.

Got it! You got me right! There's nothing left with mega moolah slots I never get tired of that site. I spend most of my time here. And that's what I'm doing right now.
