Does anyone know of any photos taken before Space Mountain arrived? I've always wondered what Discoveryland looked like before it was there.

I've always wondered the same thing as well.  I've seen park maps frm before SM but it isn't the same.  I heard people thought it would fit in the space where it is now but from the map it looks like there is plenty of space but then again maps can be unrealistic

you can get a first impression by the promos of 1992 of Discoveryland:

http://http://www.stage6.com/Disneyland-Resort-Paris/video/1147820/Discoveryland-promo-1992

The complex fits very well in the gap of the maps because it wasn´t just space mountain, it was also the loading station and the nautilus.
At the place for space mountain wasn´t something special. there were flowers and bushes like at fantasyland were they hold the gap for the beauty and beast stage.

Also this worth quality video has an short view of the location. (Maybe bit more interesting how Disney Village has looked  )

The promos are part of the big opening gala in 1992. You can find it at you tube for example. Can´t watch at the moment cause I´m at an tooooo secure pc at work

But try to link:

If not working search for "Grand Opening Euro Disney"
