We went to California in nov 2014 for the first time. I'm currently transferring my trip report over to my blog from another forum and links are here. http://www.magicforum.eu/index.php?topic=19995.0

For first timers to see everything the main park took us 3 days to do everything. California Adventure we did in a day and a half but then we're not big coaster fans so if we had gone on more rides there it would have taken longer.

For LA I can recommend tours with Starline company and the Anaheim tour company. You see loads on both tours and Anaheim tour company in particular went out of their way to make sure to show us anything related to our interests. They also get really close to the Hollywood sign.

We also did the Warner Brothers Studios tour which I would also recommend

Hi Petals, we are signed up to the Warner Brothers tour which i'm really excited about but the sightseeing tours sound great too!  What sort of stuff did they show you? Did you get any stops to get off and take pictures? How long was the tour? Sorry for all the questions haha!

What time of year did you go, was it very busy? I'm so glad they dont have fastpass+ over there yet, WDW was a nightmare.

I did this hop on hop off bus tour a few years ago http://www.starlinetours.com/los-angeles-tour-HOHO.asp
They have a few routes and you can change between the  routes. This one you can get off at any of the stops, explore the area, go to an attraction like La Brea Tar Pits and then just wait for the next bus when you are done.

The other tours they do are the Movie Stars home tour http://www.starlinetours.com/los-angeles-tour-1.asp This one you dont get off the bus,it just drives around with a guide giving live commentary.
