Santa Fe Lost Our Childrens Teddies - please help

Postby MelanieH » Tue Dec 04, 2012 12:19 pm

We stopped at Santa Fe in Disneyland a few weeks ago now. We were having the most magical of times, a holiday of a lifetime never to forget.

Until the cleaner changed our sheets and wrapped up my children's two teddies in them as they did so. They are only small, the little flat comforter type teddies you buy them as babies, ones a white bear the other is rudolf that says 'Santas little helper' on it's tummy. Despite our constant phone calls and emails they say they cannot find them and have passed it onto another department.

I don't want this to become a complaint. I just want the teddies back.

My children have had these teddies since the day they were born. My son is now 7 and my daughter 4. They have never been without them. We are all completely heartbroken. I just don't know what to do, we need to find them, I can't take anymore tears from my children or myself.

I just don't know what to do. If anyone can help in any way. Could anyone suggest who I could talk to or what to do? Or maybe if you're going to Santa Fe you could keep an eye out.

Thank you. :(

This sounds awfully familiar. We stayed 2 years ago and my youngest had bought a Snow White set. Whilst we were in the park the next day the cleaner had got rid of the box for us- we hadn't asked them to i might add, but majority of the set was inside. We complained but said they couldn't find it. My husband complained more and we got a gift voucher off them and were told to complain once we returned to the UK.

I would complain more, explain had a lovely time but stress the upset caused to the children, cleaners need to take more care. I do hope someone can help you.

I must say we have been back to the Santa Fe since and are happy to return again.

Hi,

This is a long shot, but it might be worth trying to contact Magic Rambo, the company who launder everything for Disneyland Paris. They are based in Seine et Marne near Paris 01 60 09 93 09

Good luck

I agree with you that this is a very delicate matter and a complaint is very necessary. It's something that needs to be solved to avoid future incidents like this, but I think it's very negative for you and your children to transform it into a drama filled with stress and crying.

I don't want to sound rude, but I think this is a great opportunity to teach your children about the negative influence of materialism. Teach them that material things come and go in life, that they'll always have new things, old things, but also they'll lose things and break things. It's the circle of life. Nothing lasts forever.

These things happen. They are not going to shut down the entire resort to retrieve two small stuffed toys that ended up between the folds of a sheet. File a complaint, talk to your children, and show them that the family is strong enough to withstand the loss of material goods. They will get over it, and so might you. :)

I agree. My two still mention losing their toys every now and then but its never really bothered them because as i said we've been back a few times now and they are fine with it. What they do do now though is leave teddy on top of the bed so it has to be moved off and put their toys away, often in drawers or back in the case when we leave the room just to be on the safe side. Disney were good by giving them a gift card to buy something in the shop and we got an email apologising for it saying they would try to improve their service.
