eating xmas eve/day

Postby tom_mitchell » Tue Nov 27, 2012 4:11 pm

hey guys so were going over christmas and all your info so far has been brilliant!

my next question is where to eat on xmas eve/day for dinner. we are going breakfast only and are paying for our luinch/evening meals whilst there. were happy to eat whatever we want most of the time but ive been advised to book for xmas eve/day and im wondering where is gonig to be best to eat?

i have 2 very fussy children who dont like "fancy food"
things such as chicken nuggets/pizza/bugger/ simple salads etc is perfect for them.
we were thinking of doing the buffet in the hotel cheyenne as thats where were staying but ive heard bad reports of the evening food there?

anyone got any advice on wheres going to be best so i can phone and book a table... i wanted to try cafe micky but the food just doesnt really seem all that they would eat....

thanks

tom

We are going over christmas too :)

Cafe Mickey christmas eve is what we've booked. Simply because everything else is ridiculously expensive. They have a childrens meal with pizzas, burgers etc and a dessert buffet for the children to pick at.

We've gone for the Merry christmas lunch on christmas day just purely as i wanted something reasonably traditional!

I would definately try and get your bookings made as soon as you can ;)

We've eaten in the Cheyenne before and enjoyed it, although cant remember exactly what was there but Dylan enjoyed the ribs!!

Last year we ate at planet Hollywood on Christmas Eve, we ate about 3 then snacked later in the day, and king Ludwig on Christmas Day. The hotel restaurant will usually do special meals on Christmas Eve, looked lovely but expensive and rather busy, I think it a European thing to have a big meal on the 24 th, it was great as the park was empty and nearly all rides walk on from about 18:00. There are a few in the village that do special Christmas Eve meals as well, with a different menu and higher cost.
We will be leaving on Christmas Eve this year and be with family :( I wish we were staying longer now.

well ive phoned this morning and booked for xmas eve and xmas day at the restaurant at the hotel cheyenne as thats where were staying. we shall just leave the other days and do it on impulse :)

on a different note you know how people say never look at prices after you have booked well i looked earlier and the sequia lodge was the same price as what we paid for the hotel cheyenne :( how very annoying lol!!!

oh i cant wait! weve even got a 3 foot xmas tree to take with us to put in the hotel room so the kids will have presents under a tree on xmas morning :D

If you booked direct with Disney phone them and ask to upgrade. I'm not sure how it works if its less than 60 days but I always change my booking! We were originally staying in the Cheyenne and I've upgraded 3 times! Now in a Montana room for the same as we had originally booke! Worth a try!!
