DLP whan pregnant?

Postby gothprincess » Fri Nov 09, 2012 10:43 am

Hi I'm back. Although we were't planning another trip just yet we have decided to have one last Disney trip just the three of us. I'm 11 weeks pregnant and I'm due at the end of May so I'll be around 24 weeks pregnant when we travel in Febuary.

I have heared about a pink slip that they give to pregnant women to tell them what they can ride and help them get any extra assistance they need. Does anyone know anout this? What can I ride? What does the pink slip entitle you to?

We're staying at the santa fe because we are on a bit of a budget but there's no way I could cope with breakfast cues there at 6 months pregnant do they still do good morning fantasy land breakfast? Can you use it everyday? If you can't I might just buy some snacks instead.

Thanks people it's good to be back. :D

You can get some form of the easy access pass from City Hall when youre pregnant. However the majority of busy rides you wouldnt be allowed on anyway.

It's still a matter of commen sense ...
Only you can know and will know what's good for you and the baby :)

Here's a brochure, it's in Dutch/French though, but you can flip through the pages, and it shows a bunch of icons with every ride.

I went when I was about 5 months pregnant, and got that pink paper from City Hall; if you can go with a medical certificate (I was only starting to show my belly so it was good that I had proof!)

It lists the attractions you can do, which aren't many, to be honest. But at least on the few you area allowed you don't need to queue, you go in via the exit, and then you usually get a bench to sit and wait in. I guess it could come in very handy, although when we went we were fairly lucky with the queues and I only ended up using it for IASW. I seem to remember I could also go to the disabled area for the parade! Again we didn't because we had a good spot without any hassle....

I'm trying to remember the list of rides... I know i couldn't do Pirates, or any of the dark rides (no rollercoasters either of course). To be honest I did think they were being over cautious on some cases, but then I wasn't going to take any chances with my little baby so I didn't do any of the rides I wasn't supposed to....

My sister in-law was about 5 months pregnant and was not allowed on basically any rides she tried to get on. The slip doesn't always work because it is often up to the staff on the ride if they let you or not. She couldn't ride any of the baby rides! I think it will depend upon how much you show (bump) and the mood of the staff.
You need to use your judgement as well.

Thanks. I doubt I would be excluded from rides because I was bearly showing with my daughter around that time my tummy muscles are pretty tight and I'll be wearing a thick coat so CM's wouldn't see me as a risk on grounds of me having a pronounces bump.

Ireally want to go on Peter Pan becaue it has always been closed but I don't think I can.

Peter Pan is normally not allowed, no. And I can see, I've been on a few times and had quite sudden stops and jolts (I've even banged my head against the sail!!), and if the bar is near your belly it could be dangerous...
