Re: And the best way to get to the magic is.....?

Hi we live in Liverpool and for the past 4 years we have driven to DLP. We travel the day before and stay in the Holiday express in Folkstone which is about 5 mins if that to the Eurotunnel. They give you a continental breakfast to take with you. We get the 6.00 am Eurotunnel crossing and it takes about 40 mins. The route is very straight forward the first time we drove we used the sat nav, you will have to pay a toll which is usually about 25euro's. It take's about 2-3 hrs to get to DLP. We have always been lucky that we have been able to get into are room when we arrive so we freshen up and off we go. We have two kid's aged 9 and 5. What we do is make a bag up of things for them to do on the journey. We also invested in car dvd so they watch films as we travel. I love taking the car because you can fill the boot with as much luggage as you want.We take lot's of drinks, snack's etc with us this will cut down on cost a bit. I think this is a great way to travel we take out the insurance and brakedown cover when we book with eurotunnel,we have never paid more that £150.00. Hope this helps........and have a fab time

Thank you everyone for all the fab advice! We've now booked Eurostar return (with the Disney Express service) and it only came in at around £200. We've got a Premier Inn booked for an overnight in London, and so far, the 12 week advance train tickets from Manchester to London Euston work out at about £40 return! I'm planning ahead to minimise luggage! (why take 3 forms of shower gel/shampoo when everyone can use baby top-to-toe wash....And I KNOW they supply shower gel/shampoo, but, like any normal fan, they go straight into my bag to be added to my Disney collection at home...;) ).

You've all been a great help, and I'm sure I'll hear from you on other message threads before we go!

First thing I did when we got to our room at the Santa fe was to pack the shampoo from the bathroom! \:D/ How exciting to have booked your trip! I wish I was still counting down the days till our trip instead of thinking 'this time two weeks ago we were slap bang in the middle of the magic'.
