weekly schedule?

Postby excitedmummyof2 » Thu Feb 16, 2012 9:03 am

Hi, we are off on 5th march, at least hopefully we are as long as my,son doesn't come out in chickenpox as he's been in contact with someone who has them! Impeccable timing!! Anyway, I was thinking of booking restaurants when we get there but planning where and what time to eat before we go. However how do we know what time shows, parades etc are on? The only schedule I can find is this weeks. Will ours be on the website prior to us going? We leave the house at around 4am on the Monday. Are rude schedules usually very different or would we be able to plan loosely around the week before schedule? Thanks.
Also has anyone any experience of having to claim on their insurance just in case the little one gets the dreaded chickenpox and is not fit to fly if he is still contagious when we are due to go? Just wondered if they quibble over it if the rest of us are fit to fly and how long it would take them to pay out so we could re-book? Thanks.

The schedules are only posted on the website for the current week, so you probably wouldn't have time to see the schedule for your week before you left. But there will be very little change in what shows are showing at which time from previous weeks. The times only seem to change significantly with season changes.

Good luck in avoiding the chicken pox! I'd suggest ringing your insurance and asking them now whether you could claim and what you would need to do so, just to make sure everything is clear if needed.

Hi thanks for the helpful reply. Started to plan loosely over the weekend, not sure how much of it will be followed when we get there!! Spoke to the travel agent about the chickenpox and they said there won't be a problem if he comes out in it before we go as the insurance will definately pay out but the worry is if it comes out while we are there and they couldn't tell me what would happen then except we would not be able to fly home until he was no longer contagious. Would be lying if I said I wasn't REALLY worried!

When did he have the contact? Generally if he doesn't come out in spots after 14 to 16 days, then he's not getting it this time, and the 5th of March is still far enough away for you to be sure!

Hi thanks for your reply. He was with my nephew last Mon and tues and my nephew came out in spots on the Tuesday night. So he would have been at his most contagious! The nhs site says the incubation period is 7-21 days. 21 days is up on our 2nd day there! I guess then its more likely for him to come out in them before we go then but the possibility is still there?

Yes, but most people will develop the spots within 2 weeks: it's quite rare to go the full stretch. Got to say that given a 2 day exposure, I would be expecting it, really. Chicken pox is one of the easiest diseases to pass on. But you can never tell. My ex-boyfriend and brother-in-law made it all the way to adulthood without getting it, but must have been exposed countless times (and then did get it as adults. Not good!).

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your reply, do feel a bit more positive about it now! Yea I'm definately expecting it as my nephew is very loving towards my son! My little one seems a bit low through the winter always got a cough and cold so hoping that he won't fight it off and it starts sooner rather than later!! Fingers crossed anyway! Normally I would be saying bring it on, because as you implied its worse in adulthood but just wish it had been when we got back! Kids timing!!! Thanks again.
