X Factor 2010

Postby Malin » Sun Aug 22, 2010 7:26 pm

This thread is to discuss the X Factor for 2010.

Did anyone catch the show last night?

I have to say it bored me. No one really blew me away, and it lacked any must see again moments. Hope it picks up next week. If it doesn't maybe its time to change the format for next year.

Jedward love or hate them did get people talking. The show needs a talking point for this year. If it doesn't than its just a boring singing contest with people lacking any personality.

Didn't watch it yesterday, and I plan not to watch any episodes this year. The X Factor has bored me to death for too long and now I'm just fed up with it. Every year it's the same.

There actually isn't that much TV I watch at the moment, apart from the odd Gadget Show, some old comedies and the sports news there's nothing. I find more interesting shows on Youtube and stuff now. I think the phrase "the internet killed television" might be coming true.

Well if last night was any indication. I may join you in not watching it. Really did not think that much of it last night. Very weak episode for what is the start of the series. I think its time to take the auditions away from the live crowds. With the audience being there it takes away a lot of the personal interaction between the judges and the performer.

Im sorry but i have to say that im a dedicated X Factor watcher, however i only really like watching when it gets to boot camp as i dont like watching the not so good people get booed, it makes me cringe!! I did watch the first episode and there were a few characters but noone amazing...yet! I do love it when u get someone who is amazing and blows u away, every year it suprises me that theres so much hidden talent still out there! I know many people slate the show but i think it gives everyone the chance to show off their voice that they may not have got elsewhere, its luck and who u know in this business and not everyone is lucky or knows someone! The only thing that really bothers me is that parents, friends etc tell people who really are not good that they are wonderful and give them false hope. The audition process is such that u will only see the judges after 2 or 3 prior auditions so obviously if u have got through these u will assume that u are talented and then the judges tell u the truth which often breaks hearts. Sometimes youve got to be cruel to be kind and i think it would be kinder to tell people who are thinking of auditioning if they can sing or not before they get there! Encouragement is great but outright lies are not!!!
On another note, i will miss Holly Willoughby on Xtra Factor (yes im sad enough to watch that too!!) and i dont think Konnie Huq will be a patch on her. Thank goodness we've got Holly and Phil back on This Morning soon :)

hehe im one of the odd ones, i cringe like hell when i see the bad singers, but i find them so funny! that lady who sang her own version of mercy had me in stitches.... i think it had more to do with my dog though to be honest, because whenever he hears mercy by duffy he howls like crazy until you turn it off and he was standing there tilting his head every which way clearly trying to decide on whether to howl or not it was quite funny to watch.... he eventually decided on howling when they played the proper version of mercy at the end XD
