Disneyland Resort - Rough Schedule

Postby dlrpkris » Mon Feb 07, 2011 9:18 pm

We're looking ahead to our California trip in the summer (August) but we're on a really tight schedule. We'll only have 2 or maybe 3 days in the parks.

Unlike Disneyland Paris, there's not many guide sites made by Disneyland Resort fans with info based on previous years. Anyone have a rough idea what time the parks are open until during Summer Nightastic? Is the parade usually in the afternoon or further into the evening? WOC and Magical rough times would be excellent too. Any help or general advice on the entertainment side of things would be appreciated, thanks :)

For Disneyland Info i highly recommend:

www.laughingplace.com

www.micechat.com

Hmmm for entertainment I recommend:

Main street
The Dapper Dans
The pianist at coke corner
The Swing band on a Friday Night in Carnation Gardens

Frontierland
Do not mis Billy Hill and the Hill Billies in the Golden Horseshoe

New Orleans Square
Check out the Dixieland band in NOS at the French Market, also the various streetmousphere in this section

Fantasmic is a given. The last show of the night is the quietest or you can buy a dessert buffet with reserved seating.

Best viewing for the fireworks is by Coke corner on Main Street or over in front of It's a small World where they also use projections.

Be sure to see a band at Tomorrowland in the evening, and if you are a star wars fan, Jedi academy is really cute.

Over in DCA, there is not quite as much entertainment anymore except for the excellent Aladdin show in the Hyperion, the mariachi band near the Tortilla Factory and World of Colour (you can get a dinner deal that will reserve a place for you).

Parks are likely to be open till midnight (or later - when I was a kid, it used to be 2am, but they cut back a few years ago).

Wow. Open 'til midnight? That's crazy! (good crazy)

Thanks for so much information. I'm sure it'll be SO busy so we can only get to do the essential... but I can't wait!

Is it possible to see Fantasmic AND the fireworks on the same night do you think?

Yes, but only if you watch the fireworks first in Main Street and go to the second performance of Fantasmic. If you go to the first performance of Fantasmic you can still kinda see the fireworks in the sky but won't be able to move from your position until after the fire works have finished. Fantasmic is pretty much all standing room around Rivers of America and is gets PACKED. If you can, go the second performance on a Sunday Night - that was my best experience! You have also got to see World of Color in DCA but I assume you still have to get fast pass tickets for it on the day or the performance! Enjoy, Disneyland Resort is my favourate :D :D :D Indiana Jones is the BEST =D>

Oh cool. So it is (almost) possible, thanks. I guess we would visit on a weekday so would be even less busy or do they just have the two Fantasmic performances at weekends?

I've heard great things about Indy. I think that will be 'right up our street'. So exciting. Anyone dine a tour of The Disney Studios?
