Walt Disney World oct 2012

Postby MissTinkerbell » Sat Jan 28, 2012 7:07 pm

We're taking our honeymoon to WDW the at the beginning of october for 2 weeks. I've been looking at weather stats online, and it seems like it can be compared to a good Norwegian summer ;) Does anyone have any advise about what kind of clothes will be the best choice? All shorts and t-shirts or something a bit warmer for morning/evening?
We also want to get tickets for Mickey's not so scary halloweenparty :D How early do they come on sale and how do we go about buying them?
In general any tips are welcome :D

Thank's!!

Howdy!

I was in WDW from Sep 20 to Oct 8 in 2010. For about the first 1,5 weeks the air humidity was very high, but after a rainfall about 1,5 weeks out the humidity dropped. We had around 30-40 C every day I guess. All of my family walked in shirts and shorts every day all time. Can't say I felt the big drop in temperatures from day to evening (with the exemption that the sun didn't shin directly on you).

Regarding the Halloween party tickets, I'm not sure when they come up, but you can buy them at disneyworld.com

For the tips in general, I would say bring sun screen, don't stress, drink a lot of water, take rest, consider have something on your head. And you might try to avoid the transportation system at rush hour. You could also consider to rent a car to experience Sea World, Universal etc. And if you rent a car one of the first day you are there, try to go to Wal Mart or similar places to buy water to have in your room (cheaper to buy at Wal Mart than WDW). A good idea here could also to rent a small fridge for the water (and other stuff) in your room.

Feel free to ask more if you want :-)

Thanks!! That helps with planning on what to bring. 30-40C is a a relly nice warm summer's day here in Norway, so I think it will be a good extention of our summer ;) I'm trying to make a plan for packing as light as possible so we can do a lot of shoping  so needing more shorts than pant and so on wil help!

Then I'll just watch the site for tickes as we're getting closer :)

I might just take you up on that! I'm big on planning every detail well ahead...

Oh, and I don't know if you are aware of it, but at disneyworld.com when you search for the Halloween party tickets, you first have to search for regular tickets and then on the next page other tickets in the drop down window.
And the weather is good compared to the Norwegian autumn we got here in Norway ;-)

I havn't been on allears but I use the others almost every day ;) I'll try that one too! I've started making my packing list already  but I'm just so exited about going and if I could I would have my suitcase ready at the door  It sounds like most people who go at that time have great weather in general, so I hope we get it too. It's like someone said on a different forum, when people who live in Florida start to feel cold, the rest of us thinks it's still nice and warm  And I'm sooo happy we get to experiense Halloween!!! My birthday is day before halloween and I've been wanting to go to DLRP, to celebrate, but even if we wont be at WDW for my actual birthday, who cares ;) It's halloween, it's my honeymoon, it's my birthday montH and IT'S WDW!!!! There will be cake :D ;)
