Re: Restaurants - menu updates and dining questions

One of my favourite restaurant is Pizzeria Bella Notte at Fantasyland.
I went there in 2005 and in 2007 and I ate the pizza with ragù (or meat) on them. I read now that is no more on the menu.... :x
Many years ago (even before my latest visit to the resort) I read on dlrptoday that there were new partners at the resort, and Buitoni will have left Pizzeria Bella Notte very soon. Since Buitoni is one of the best Italian food company, it's still offering the catering for Pizzeria Bella Notte or not?

Hi everyone, I'd like to know your opinions on a couple of things
Would you go to Cafe Mickey as a couple? Would it be uncomfortable because it's more for families? In which case would it be better going later in the evening? - what time does it close ?
Also if you book to the Blue Lagoon, can you usually request a table near the water or on the third level?
I am going in September, I can't really work out what sort of time the restaurants inside the park would be open in the evening. Can someone give me a rough estimate of time?
Many, many thanks

We went to Cafe Mickey last year as two adults. We had a great time, and saw all the characters that were out, but obviously they spent more time interacting with the children there than with us. We spent a good two hours in there eating, and the food was great.
I think we booked for about 7:30pm, which was just after the parks closed during our stay.
Easter 2000 - Cheyenne
November 2004 - Santa Fe
22nd May 2011 - Santa Fe

6th-10th June 2012 - Seqouia Lodge
Next trip wont be until Summer 2014 or 2015

When we went to the Blue Lagoon, we asked for a table near the water but had to wait until one came free but it was our choice and worth the wait ;)

Regarding the time of your visit: In the past the park usually closed 'early' in september, so only a few restaurants located closer to the entrance served dinner. This year because of the Dreams show the park will be open later (at least until its dark enough for the show...) but even then areas in the back of the park might close earlier, so if you want to eat at Blue Lagoon your best bet is lunch. Restaurants like Walt's and Silver Spur will most likely be open for dinner, as they serve the special Dreams dinner menu.

I've been to CM just once and i can't say we had a wonderful time because we felt rushed out as we were a family of adults (my kids were then 22 and 15). Characters did spend just the time of a photo with us and the restaurant was not full at all.
IMO CM is for kids, we're going back in July but will probably book Inventions - more expensive but more *adult* if it makes sense.

Said that... i've read of people with no kids having a great time at CM so we might just had been unlucky...

Hey,

At my last trip I have had diner at the silver spur and at the blue lagoon. It was al very very very good. The food was realy tasty and the serving was fast and polite (although there was al litle trouble with our fantasy annual passes in the silver spur). I have some pictures from the menu's and from the food. I don't know if this is the right place to ask. But I have some trouble with posting them. Can someone pleas explain me how to do that?

thank you
Here we go!

I had a Cafe Mickey pizza when I was there in 2010 and I left half of it as it was huge - 2 adults could easily share!

i'm guessing they are 12inch size - they fill a dinner plate, and we share one between the 2 of us :) .

We went in 2010 to Planet Hollywood and the food was awful; as was the service. I had been previous to this 4 times and found the food and service to be great so was very disappointed when we went in 2010.

Never been to Rainforest Cafe - but hopefully someone will be along soon that has been there.

Hi, just wondering if you could help me, although its pobably a daft question

I have just been looking at the Cafe mickey menu as we want to go there in June. Anyways, we wold probably order a couple of pizzas to share between the 5 of us. On the menu, it doesn't mention anything about seperate side orders. Are you able to order these is Cafe Mickey (fries etc)?x

Hi

I personally have been to Planet Hollywood on my past two visits, really enjoyed the food there and the surroundings were really good, but was very packed litrally trouble moving chairs and the staff are not as 'disney' friendly.

As for rain forest cafe we love this place and will be going back when we re-visit in four weeks, the food is very hearty and i think good value, and the coctails are YUM! hehe great surroundings, only thing is we were in the thick of it but then got moved to the outter edge near the shop which wasn't as magical. But all in all i would recommend, my six year old loved all the animals and water x
