What was the last movie you watched?
« on: May 29, 2007, 11:44:29 AM »
How about an ongoing thread for people to share what movie's they've watched, and what they thought about them.

I wasn't sure whether this should be Cinemagique or Blue Lagoon, but I figured Cinemagique was more specifically Disney movies.

I saw POTC3 on Thursday night. Wasn't overly impressed to be honest. I thought it was too long, and I didn't like the way they didn't properly explain how Barbossa and Jack came back - it was pretty much just dismissed as magic. Didn't think they resolved the cliffhanger from Dead Man's Chest at all well. I also didn't like what happened with Tia Dalma, that seemed to come out of nowhere, and then it fizzled out and they didn't do anything with it. On the plus side, the performances were all entertaining, and there's plenty of action. But it could have been so much better.

Just watched The Empire Strikes Back last night on DVD. I've begun watching the original Star Wars Trilogy on Saturday night because of the anniversary. Awesome stuff, even all these years later. Vader's revelation has got to be one of the biggest moment's in cinema history. I still remember seeing that at 10 years old. No, it can't be true! And had to wait 3 years to find out the answer!

Last night "Desirée" with Jean Simmons, Marlon Brando and Michael Rennie. Old one, but one of my absolute favourite.

The movie is not 3 hours long, just ends up being that when you add on the adverts and trailers for about 25 minutes  .

Last movie I saw in cinema was pirates for the second time last night in a better cinema than my boring local odeon.

Last movie I watched at home was probably the Time Machine, (New version) a few days ago on dvd.  I oddly like it.

Maybe not 3 hours, but it's only 12 minutes short of it!

I've just had a break from revision to watch Dreamgirls.

Quite enjoyed it - but I usually do enjoy a good musical - must be something to do with Disney getting me hooked on musicals.

Eddie Murphy was good in it - very different to anything I've seen him in before. And Beyoncé is gorgeous!  :)  Not as nice as Belle though!  8)

Couldn't help thinking about The Frog and the Princess whenever Anika Noni Rose was on screen.  :)

High School Musical yesterday with kids as it was on television.  I am going to watch The Departed tonight with, I think, Leonardo DiCaprio.  Hope it's good.  Just watched Casino Royale and thought it was rubbish - really disappointed, Daniel Craig is lovely though.  Also can't wait to see POTC, will go this weekend.

Just watched The Fountain with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz.

Very bizarre film - still not sure what it was all about.
